Social Entrepreneurship

This course introduces participants to the concept of social entrepreneurship and social enterprises. Beginning with an outline of the nature of social enterprises and the four pillars of sustainability, it frames the concept of social entrepreneurship using the “Golden Circle” framework, thus giving participants the tools necessary to break down the components of social enterprises in a concrete manner. Finally, the course also introduces participants to the Business Model Canvas (BMC) tool, and highlights the major challenges faced by entrepreneurs when starting social enterprises.
